Big Lots, Inc. is an American retail brand situated in Columbus, Ohio. You have a whole range of products available, which includes packaged food and drinks, furniture, toys clothing lines, electronics, and households.

Big Lots has over 1,400 stores in 48 States, and most of their products sold are either closed out or overstocked. Big Lots have made a unique and weird reputation in the market.

While many of the merchandise in Big Lots stores run out very quickly with no news of replenishments coming soon, there are many other items which are stocked continuously, for example, food stocks and items.

Big Lots have many times used buildings at its stores which were previously occupied or used by other stores.

Big Lots was founded by Sol Shenk in 1967 as Consolidated International, Inc. In 1970, the company started operating in the market as Consolidated International.

Consolidated then launched closeout chains in 1982 by the name of Odd Lots. And the chain kept growing over the years and included many other stores operating in the market by the names of Odd Lots, Mac Frugal’s Bargains Closeouts, Pic ‘N’ Save and Big Lots.

In the year 2001, all these different stores and company names were converted into a single national brand titled Big Lots, and it has been the name, brand, and recognition of the company ever since. In 2008, Forbes included Big Lots in its annual list of Fortune 500 companies for the first time.
